A filmbejátszásokban megszólalnak bagi hagyományőrzők, belepillanthatunk az archív felvételekbe, illetve munkatársak és tanítványok beszélnek Timár Sándor Galga-vidékhez kötődő kutató és művészi munkásságáról.
A találkozás a Mezőség és a környező folyóvölgyek néptánc- és népzenehagyományaival nemcsak Timár Sándor pályájának volt meghatározó eleme, hanem a táncházmozgalom indulásának és a színpadi néptánc újfolklorista szemléletű megújulásának is. A mezőségi dombok között megbúvó, az 1970-es években még viszonylag elzárt falvak hihetetlenül gazdag és archaikus folklóranyaga Timár Sándort is lenyűgözte: 1972-től kezdve - legtöbbször a kitűnő helyismerettel rendelkező barátja és munkatársa, Kallós Zoltán segítségével - több évtizeden keresztül járt vissza ide, több mint húsz településen készített hang- és filmfelvételeket. A műsor által ebbe a hatalmas anyagba csak bepillantást nyerhetünk, a számtalan mezőségi táncanyagra épülő Timár-koreográfiából pedig a legkorábbiakból válogattak a rendezők.

Yvette Bozsik’s solo performance was inspired by Mineko Iwasaki, the protagonist of Memoirs of a Geisha. The performance takes viewers into the lonely, secretive, and personal world of Women of Dance and Art, the memoir of an elderly dancer who always danced with her whole soul. Yvette Bozsik’s iconic partner, Tamás Vati, also features in the performance, which reveals the inner work of a dancer’s self-knowledge, rituals, inner vibrations, and secrets in the triple unity of body, soul, and spirit. Yvette Bozsik’s solo performance was inspired by the autobiography Geisha of Gion by Mineko Iwasaki, the protagonist of the world-famous book and film Memoirs of a Geisha.
Zsófia Pirók was the first Hungarian to earn a degree in flamenco dance from the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza in Seville. Her performances have been featured both in Hungarian and in international theatres and tablaos. In 2019, she was awarded the title Best Dancer of the Season from the Association of Hungarian Dance Artists. Her premieres are part of the programme at the National Dance Theatre Budapest, where she represents the highest level of the art of flamenco in Hungary.
The next stop of our Live Dance Archive series, marked by the name of Zoltán Zsuráfszky, will be presented under the title Viharsarok, this time directed by Gergő Sánta, dance leader of the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble.
