LONG: Yeonhee Project I • Liquid Sound

long: Yeonhee project I : Traditional performance & modern dance
Performers/dancers wear objects such as traditional percussion instruments as accessories and transform traditional elements when they come and go in a long space where street play is transformed. The audience faces both sides of the runway, actively appreciating the crossing of boundaries between tradition and modernity, performance and dance. It is a performance that reconstructs the Korean identity starting from tradition by repeating dissolution and reunion with clean static energy, repetition and reduction, slowness and void.

The traditional meaning of the five colors of the Yeonhee costume is reinterpreted with the contemporary sensibility of the participating artists. The overall structure of beginning-dissolution-gesture, coldness-circularity-movement, freedom-explosion-energy, coldness-fear-silence, source-harmony is a musical interpretation, and it contains a message about dissolution and coexistence that pervades the entire performance.

INTRO

Among the traditional representations, the performed goes a long way. Arriving in the space, the performers and dancers begin the fashion show by taking off the traditional attire. Yeonhee's movements and objects are reinterpreted.

Our offer

Compared to Swan Lake, the well-known version of the classical ballet, I wished to rephrase the piece from another aspect, in a different light. In my interpretation, Siegfried is a young man with a split mind, who is being held captive by the traumas of his childhood as a result of his relationship with his mother.

The forest was covered with soft, pure white snow and with the quiet dance of the falling snowflakes the exciting preparations for Christmas has begun. Meanwhile, Vackor – as all the bears at this time of the year – is getting ready for the big winter sleep, but as he crawles into bed he notices a beautiful star, shining brighter than anything he had seen before.

Egy letűnt világ határán, ahol a múlt és a jelen összefonódik, a Cseresznyéskert táncszínházi előadás a változás fájdalmát és szépségét idézi meg. A Feledi Project új bemutatója Anton Pavlovics Csehov ikonikus drámájának motívumait kortárs mozdulatnyelven és élő jazz-zenével, a Sárik Péter Trió különleges hangzásvilágával értelmezi újra. A nosztalgia, az elengedés és az újrakezdés dilemmái nem szavakkal, hanem mozdulatokon, testemlékezeten és zenei improvizációkon keresztül szólalnak meg.
