Touch Paradox - Artus – Company of Gábor Goda

Touch Paradox - Artus – Company of Gábor Goda

Two bodies meet at one point. This point is now common. Two bodies, two people meet at this common point. They are touched. Being touched is like getting into something exceptionally sensitive, intimate, deep. In this moment, something really important, something essential happens. Something inside moves and changes.  more

A new era begins in a person's life. Whoever is involved is no longer objective. Rather honest. And vulnerable. Touch permeates, grasps a person’s being, essence, and gently or forcefully, but takes control. Finally. Therefore, anyone who touches someone bears great responsibility, be it physical, emotional, artistic or ideological touch. (Gábor Goda)

Our offer

The Yellow Rose is Mór Jókai\'s 1892 novel about the Hungarian Puszta, in which he details the natural world and the customs of the Hortobágy region with the fastidiousness of an ethnologist. In the dance performance, choreographer and director Árpád Könczei worked with the Maros Ensemble to present the dramatic story of this novel inspired by the peasant world.

In Lutte of Birds, a sense of the soaring of birds seeps through the original concept of Lutte, creating a new and exciting dynamic fusion between the themes of struggle and freedom familiar from Frenak. “We keep others on a leash and pet them as long as they serve us, but the moment they want to move around even a little bit, the moment they want to go, we pull them back,” Frenák describes the violent, power-seeking attitude that appears in Lutte and that has haunted our world for centuries.

The idea for The Nutcracker ballet came from theone-time director of the Tsarist theatre who, based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s fairy tale entitled the Nutcracker and the Mouse King, wanted to stage a fairy tale ballet that would surpass all that had gone before, both in sound and in spectacle. Tchaikovsky was asked to compose the music and after Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty his third and final ballet was also a great success. It was the six-movement suite of the music of The Nutcracker that was first performed in March 1892, and in December of the same year the spectacularly presented theatrical work was also performed. The Nutcracker has become the most frequently played ballet piece of all time.
