Premiere - Ten Little Signs of Sin - Inversedance - Zoltán Fodor Company

Premiere - Ten Little Signs of Sin - Inversedance - Zoltán Fodor Company

Our latest production was inspired by And Then There Were None, the best-selling novel by world-famous author Agatha Christie, which explores the concept of sin as a moral dilemma, built around ten symbolic signs of sin.

The original work tells the story of a perfectly crafted and executed series of crimes, whose protagonists—and victims—are ordinary people who, willingly or unwittingly, have committed some kind of crime that has not been properly punished or absolved.

Reading the novel, the question arises: who is the real culprit and who is the real victim? How many crimes that affect us, our immediate environment, or even the whole of humanity take place right before our eyes? We see the clues, the signs of sin, but to no avail—we cannot or will not act, and the sinners continue to live their lives unbeknownst to others.

Our surreal new production helps individual fates unfold, prompting us to ask ourselves: are we victims or culprits, and can we do anything about either if we have been recognised or have been made to recognise them?

Our offer

"One for All! All for One!” – There is no better-known slogan than the greeting of the three musketeers! The romantic adventures of Dumas’s heroes have been admired by millions all over the world for almost two hundred years.

The aim of FrenÁk’s Nostalg_Y is not to reminisce about a specific age group or to make the audience cry, but to engage the audience in an intellectual and emotional game of association, where no one knows exactly who will become what, but where imagination can help everyone create a story that fits their expectations. Through randomly colliding, interconnected fragments, we gain insight into what human relations are hidden in the interactions between different generations: for example, between two young individuals who carry their older selves within them and two older characters who carry the consequences of the decisions made by their younger selves.

In Lutte of Birds, a sense of the soaring of birds seeps through the original concept of Lutte, creating a new and exciting dynamic fusion between the themes of struggle and freedom familiar from Frenak. “We keep others on a leash and pet them as long as they serve us, but the moment they want to move around even a little bit, the moment they want to go, we pull them back,” Frenák describes the violent, power-seeking attitude that appears in Lutte and that has haunted our world for centuries.
