„A táncfilm nagy kihívása a gyakran különböző dimenziókban létező művészeti ágak sikeres integrálása: egy előadás időhorizontja, mely az előadó és a néző együttes jelenlétében értelmezhető, szemben áll a film illúziót keltő szakaszos, kihagyásos idejével. Az, hogy ez mennyire sikerül, a heterogén elemek fúziójából létrejövő műben megvalósuló szintézis mértékével mérhető.
A különböző művészeti területek - tánc, film és zene - közös halmaza a »mozgás«. Idővel felfedeztem, hogy ez a »kinetikus« aktív megközelítés az a »vörös fonal«, mely munkám minden elemét összekapcsolja. Ennek talán legszélsőségesebb formáját 2002-ben alkalmaztam, amikor egy karmestert arra kértem, hogy fordítson hátat zenekarának és adjon elő egy »kéz-koreográfiát« a csendre. A Legyen csend! máig a legtöbbet játszott darabom.” (Thierry de Mey)

Compared to Swan Lake, the well-known version of the classical ballet, I wished to rephrase the piece from another aspect, in a different light. In my interpretation, Siegfried is a young man with a split mind, who is being held captive by the traumas of his childhood as a result of his relationship with his mother.
Yvette Bozsik’s solo performance was inspired by Mineko Iwasaki, the protagonist of Memoirs of a Geisha. The performance takes viewers into the lonely, secretive, and personal world of Women of Dance and Art, the memoir of an elderly dancer who always danced with her whole soul. Yvette Bozsik’s iconic partner, Tamás Vati, also features in the performance, which reveals the inner work of a dancer’s self-knowledge, rituals, inner vibrations, and secrets in the triple unity of body, soul, and spirit. Yvette Bozsik’s solo performance was inspired by the autobiography Geisha of Gion by Mineko Iwasaki, the protagonist of the world-famous book and film Memoirs of a Geisha.
The Fitos Dezső Dance Company is careful to regularly stage dance theatre performances that consider the authentic transmission of folklore and the cultures of various historical Hungarian regions as their primary goal. Transylvania Express is a selection of Transylvanian dances and music. With this performance, we want to convey the message that traditional culture lives on in all of us who believe in the value of keeping tradition alive—because tradition defines our future!
