Martin György és munkatársai 1969-ben több, nagy horderejű táncgyűjtést szerveztek Erdélyben és Magyarországon. Az erről készült felvételek meghatározó jelentőségűek a magyar, de az egész európai néptánckutatás történetében is. Kalotaszeg című műsorunkkal szeretnénk köszönetet mondani a „türei” (Kalotaszeg) hangosfilm készítőinek és minden szereplőjének, azoknak a magyar, román és cigány adatközlőknek; táncosoknak és zenészeknek, akik megőrizték és továbbadták nekünk csodálatos táncaikat, feledhetetlen zenei kultúrájukat.

Ever since God gave Adam a companion, fashioned from his rib, in Paradise, the order of the world has been that no one should live alone. Its modality has taken dozens of shades over the millennia since then: cohabitation, bigamy, polygamy, polyandry, all the way until we come to the most familiar form today.
Compared to Swan Lake, the well-known version of the classical ballet, I wished to rephrase the piece from another aspect, in a different light. In my interpretation, Siegfried is a young man with a split mind, who is being held captive by the traumas of his childhood as a result of his relationship with his mother.
