You and the World • Inversedance - Zoltán Fodor Company

In the performance entitled You and the World, inspired by a selection of poems from the volume of the same title, we have created a pictorial world that reflects the thoughtfulness of the poet's works written in this period of life and his triple thematisation of relational systems, where YOU, defined against the I, is given a place beside the I together with the environment surrounding these two.

On the one hand, this triple system provides an opportunity for a rather intimate representation, where I, as a self-address, watches as an external observer the recognised or subconsciously rambling desires and constraints of YOU, while illustrating the connection between the mass and the individual in various ways, approaching from the world at large.

Although Lőrinc Szabó's questions carry their constant relevance, now that the world may be forced to change, even more emphasis is placed on self-analysis, the role of the individuals, taking responsibility and thus their place in society and in the network of contacts. The reflection on the problems of the past and the present goes beyond the concreteness of words in the play, also giving way to free associations.

Our offer

What we present is not the story of Kahlo’s life but an independent visual theatre vision inspired by her art and career about a dramatic but also colourful and lively world.

We don’t really understand why he does what he does – Hermes is an enigma. His personality irritates us, yet there is something about him that captivates us. How does he enchant us? What is at the heart of the magic that this taboo-breaking, charming and arrogant trickster casts on us?
